The $1000 question
Suppose you had around a grand to spend on this car. What would you do?
It ran a best of 13.40 last year with a 2.01 60'
I know the car has a 12 in it as it sits. 2 years ago I cut a 1.73 60 without the mega bites on. With the same drag radial and with the stock 86 engine.

What are your goals for the car Street.race, etc? You could thow a bottle on it. But taking some weight outta the car will help. It all depends on what your plans are for it.

I am making a street car that will survive the strip and go as fast as I can afford. Other than that everything is game. It doesnt have a/c, and the power steering is next. The batt is in the trunk etc.
I was thinking suspension, a real tire and spray.

make it light, kmember, coil overs, struts, rear suspension etc. that way that 1000 is not wasted and you wont ever have to upgrade those parts and it will make it faster because it will work better.

Thats what I was thinking. I can drop a few hunderd on it every once in awhile this summer and make it faster. Next year I bite the bullet and throw a motor at it. I know that 60 sucked, and a light car with a working suspension can handle pretty much anything I put in it. I already have a coilover kit for the front thanks to Jamie.

possibilities
Remember to put the reinforced boxes in the body where the new solid control arms get installed with the poly bushings too (upper adjustable ) .I personally seen 2 of these floors ripped from stock abuse ,by the backseat inner seat belts ripps and tears the floor. Also don't forget the 90/10 front struts installed with your coil over kit and tubular k member . Last easy thing spool or mini spool with the gear 4.10 or 4.30 ,although I had good luck with a ford racing carbin fiber posi clutch kit .Good luck possibilities endless watch this video of a frankenstang (383 stroker small block chevy 350 turbo 4.10 posi 8.8 axle 26 hoosier et's ) on my racespace . http://www.racingjunk.com/profile/236526

I would say if your not planning on putting another motor in it go with a nicer set of heads. Hell you can even reuse the heads on the windsor if you decide to go that route. I'd try and pick up a set of used AFR 185's. might be a little big for the 302 but when you step up to the windsor it will be just right. I'd say you could probably pick up 50-60 horse easy with them heads....

Yeah, thats almost exactly what we are thinking, but instead of some spray we were thinking a bunch...lol
I was under the back a couple days ago and noticed the housing bushings were pulled out of the housing and just hanging on the upper control arms. I guess you could say it has a better 60 in it...

Are you fuel injected or carb? Either way the bottom end will hold up pretty good. Ur pistons should be forged so u can throw some spray at it too
