welp work today was fun

i was at work today and was getting ready to go to lunch and a fellow tech asked me to set one side of a hoist on a car for him so i did. Well i was finishing setting the hoist and next thing i know my finger is in between the pinrail of the car and the hoist pad. He got distracted by a fellow tech and lifted the car b4 making sure i was away from the car. I went to the emergency room and waited 3.5 hours to have to finger nail reattached under the skin and holes drilled in to releave the pressure and blood from under the nail and had 2 stiches thru the nail and into my finger. The very tip of the bone on the finger is broken so it's in a splint and wraped in gauze till i see a hand specialist on monday. And to top it all off i had to get a tetnis shot too....ugh what a shitty ass day

Atleast i have workman's comp and some free time to blow if i can't work this week.

yea i'm ok it was the index finger on my left hand but now my left hand basically immobile in terms of being usful at all. And the pain is horrific but the shots to numb the pain hurt sooo much worse.

ask the doc for some good pain pills..something like 1250 vicodin ought to do the trick

nope seems like when things are going well, it all turns to shit. But atleast with this one it wasn't my fault so i guess that's a plus.

and jim you are right. I hope it puts me to sleep. I feel better nce the pain meds kick in and i'm gonna use the finger to get some simpathy from the ladies at the bar. And me trying to get dressed and undressed is like watching a monkey try and fuck a football....

Hopefully you can go on short term disability if you're gonna be off for awhile.

Well...I guess it could have been worse. You could have crashed a customer's car into the shop and really hurt yourself...or someone else.

You should have cut the finger off completely, and left it off. Then you could have told people some cool story like you got into a fight with a ninja and right before you took his life he cut your finger off with his Katana sword. Then people would have thought that you were some kind of crazy badass!!!
