Default Oil pressure?

I noticed going from 20/50 weight oil to 10w30 my oil pressure is at 60-65 PSI cold at idle and 20-30 Warm, its never done that before? When I had the 20/50 warm I see 40-45PSI and almost 75PSI Cold. Could the different weight have an effect on pressure? Also, when I hit the gas the pressure jumps to 40-45 going down the road.

Seems normal.. thinner oil = less oil pressure.

As a rule of thumb you need 10lbs of oil pressure for every 1000 rpm. 7000= 70psi.

Oil weight can have a huge affect on the oil pressure. Back in the day we used to run 20-50 in any old worn out motors to get some pressure back. On a good motor like yours, you should run lighter oil unless you set it up really loose. The lighter oil will give you more power.

I use 10 30 mobile 1 with the same pressure you are seeing...no worries, what you have is normal. Start up 45, warm 25 after spray pass 18 back to 25 by teh time i get to the trailer. excessive pressure only leads to loss of horsepower. the 10 1000 rule is always been the way i look at it.
