well i got my exhaust done on my car today..so im on my way home and i turn on to masonic. no cars anywhere so i figure what the hell i'll run 1st gear and see what it feels like since i havent been able to yet..car pulls strong..lights the tires up goin into 2nd. im happy as hell..then i hear some kids on a bike yell that there is a cop ahead...yeah well sure enough there is. on the sidewalk on his Harley..he throws the flashers on i pull over shut the car off..asks for license and insurance and reg. well i dont have a proper plate on my camaro right now..im honest about it and tell him he just nods his head..then he asks if i know why i get pulled over i say yeah..he says "you were doing 40. well slowed down to 40 i should say. and if u would have seen you light ur tires up i could have got u for wreckless.."

goes to his bike..im thinkin im completely fucked..comes back tells me he wrote me for 5 over and to get the car home..

needless to say im lucky as hell..but damn did my car run stong

ok im done w/ my novel now..

I would take it to court....I can't remember what's its called but you don't admit giult but explain what you did. Should be able to get 6-months probation. No tickets in 6-months and it never goes on your record. All you pay is the cost of the ticket. If you pay a lawyer this is the way it will go for sure.

I've done this several times in the past.

i have 1 previous ticket still on my record from 2 years ago..got a ticket for 10 over. i was clearly in the wrong w/ what i did so i dont know how that would go over in court

so did i do a good enough burnout when i left..didnt really try to hard..just gave it about 3/4's throttle..

Almost every court has done away with taking tickets under advisement(unfair, because not everyone gets it), but in some cases, depending on your driving record, they may change the ticket to a non points offense. You still pay the fine, but no points appear on your record. A lot will depend on how the ticket was written(did the cop write the actual speed, or spinning tires?) and your attitude on court day. Best thing to do is make a court date, talk to the city attorney, see if theyll knock it down. Main thing is to keep the points of your record so your insurance company doesnt stick it to you. The increase in insurance rates will end up being 3x the cost of the ticket.
