Are slot car tracks just too old school??
I'm looking for a starter set for the kid for X-mas and nobody local seems to sell the shit anymore. I found this on ebay.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=400015539530
The little guy loves speed racer so I thought it would be cool.
Toys-r-us used to sell them but all they have now is what looks like shitty cheap versions. I want a TYCO track because I still have a TON of track, that would work with it, from back in the day. Plus the wife has a coupon for 30% off at toys-r-us that would come in handy if we were to spend close to $100. But I can't find shit on their site for TYCO stuff.
Any ideas?? Am I the only one who could still sit for hours racing slot cars??

I've almost got enough track to fill a 4X8 sheet of plywood, so I figured I would cover it in green felt or something grassy looking and pin the track down. I can set it up in the garage, I got two barstools, and I can have a cold beer, the kid can have a cold juicebox and we head off into raceland!!
It's fucking flawless!!!
I just would like to find a place local that still deals with the HO scale stuff. And I'm kinda worried about getting anything off of ebay anymore!!

Hardware store on ford road near west of wayne i think...it's a do it yerself center...kinda small but they had ALOT of Ho train and TYCO stuff there. Used to buy all my stuff there when Lou had hot slots open at Ford and Middlebelt. The store is on the south side of Ford in the westland area...wish i could remember more. If you're not from that side of town...let me know and i'll see what i can do to get better directions or info. I still have a few nicely modded HO cars with sticky slicks, but they require a 12 and 6 volt battery setup with the amperage turned down a little! They move on a stock track, but not like they should...but they don't fall off...LOL
BTW i'm a newbie. Thanks for the site recommendation Raj.

Nankin is still in Westland, and they have a hobby shop. They are on Ford, east of Wayne though.

Cool man, thanks!! I'll have to go check it out. I used to have close to 50 cars from back when my old man was a kid. Every kind of muscle car you could imagine. They were slow but and they would slide all over the track but that was half the fun cause you had to really drive them to not wipe out. I put them in a storage locker in the basement of the village apartments in wixom back in the day and someone broke in and stole them. I'm still sick as fuck about it!! That's shit that you just can't replace!! Fucking thieves!!
