leave it all in. unless the screwheads bother your shoe you don't another surgury just to take it out. if it's higher..no reason to.
and besides the bone might not grow all the way back in...mine didn't.
mine is different now, cuz i had my ankle fused after...but this is what looked like when i first broke it.
