Default Picked up a new rig for the wife

Just picked this baby up for the BOSS

For those of you that don't know what it is (since Ford markets this CUV for shit ) It's a 2008 Ford Taurus X AWD Limited CUV.

It replaced the Freestyle name plate, BUT it also has the same 3.5l Duratec engine (265hp) that the Edge does and a 6spd auto insted of that POS CVT transmission and the old 3.0l the Freestyle had. They are built on the same platform as the Volvo XC90, only it is a lot less $.

We were going to buy an AWD Edge Limited, but this one made more sence to buy since it was almost the same price as the Edge was, and has more room, and more standard features on it.Especially with a 7 year old who plays hockey, baseball and football. There is TONS of room in it.

No it ain't sporty like the Edge is, but this thing rides like a damn Lincoln. Very impressive on the freeway. I was doing 90 and it felt like 50. Very quiet inside when you're driving. Very little road noise at all.

I didn't care either way since this one is for my BETTER 1/2- As long as she is happy, so am I.

Anyway, here it is.

Nice car. I have a 2008 Sable for the my second car that is built on the same platform and it is a very comfortable ride. It has performed great for the last 10 months. Did you get the "SYNC" feature? Good luck with the ride.

Hey Darryl Hows it goin?

Thanks. We like it. The wife drove a Taurus AWD Limited, but said she felt weird driving it. Guess driving a car after driving an FX4 for 4 years will do that to ya.

Yep, it has SYNC, but don't ask me how the hell it works.

The Limited came with all kinds of stuff so thats why we got one insted of an SEL with leather.

Power everything. Key less entry with door mounted kep pad. Heated front seats and mirrors with memory. Memory adjustable pedals. SYNC, 8 way power drivers seat 4 way power pass. seat. Second Row reclining folding bucket seats Audiophile 6-Disc CD Changer MP3 Player Reverse sensing system Dual climate control HVAC controls for driver and passenger Auto day/night rear view mirror. SYNC AdvanceTracŪ with RSCŪ (Roll Stability Control) Safety Canopy™ Side Head Curtain Airbags Tire Pressure monitoring system.

The only 2 options ours came with was Sirius radio and the Limited convenience package. Cargo net and Home link garage door opener You can program up to 3 openers in the one unit.

The thing ours didn't come with that my next Ford will for sure have is the DVD Nav. That is AWESOME. I had a 08 Fusion AWD (nice car too BTW) with NAV for a day when the dealer was installing the DVD players. That NAV set up is fantastic.

Hope to get 100K+ trouble free miles out of this one just like we have out of my F-150. If not, I got the 6yr 100K bumper to bumper warranty.

Sticker was 33,850 With my A-plan it was 30,325 +1,650 for the headrest DVD players. X-plan it woulda been 31,572. Sounds like a lot, but this one is a AWD Limited. You can get an SEL for a lot cheaper than that.

Got 4K cash back from Ford Credit. 2K in rebates + 2K Customer Loyalty for owning a 98 of newer Ford vehicle. I asked if I could get another 2K for onwing 2 98 or newer Fords but they said NO. Was worth a try

So far (according to the trip computer- havn't figured it at the pumps yet) been averaging 18-19 city 25-26 hwy. That's with her driving tho.

And I LOVED seeing this sticker in the window when we were test driving it,

Looks slow, just like the rest of the Fords you own!!!

J/K

I saw this ride in person guys....it's badass. Has everything. I wouldn't even know how to operate half of it.

Congrats Jay, even though I already told you!
