Me too. I paid over 10K in federal taxes, and Turbotax still says that I owe 5 more grand......

I go to a place called R.E.js its in lincoln park on dix . I was bitching to a freind about the same shit, bottom line is fuck HR block if you are dealing with more than a short form. I have sent 4 of my buddies their and everyone of them are hooked. I get at least 400-800 more $$$ in my pocket .
and all of my freinds say the same.
write off everything, there are tons of things to write off like if you work constructioin like me : laundry soap, work boots, carhart bibs,up to $300 a year in clothes ,union dues, new washer and dryer (every 3 years)ect.. ask ??s
your car registratoin fees lot of people dont know that .
anything involving your house improvments ,roof, flooring ,trim, paint, garage door, drywall ect..
my wife works in a hospital, we write off our new computer, new shelfs, desk, paper, supplies ,her whole office ect... but she does work from home 1 day a week . ( loop hole).

turbo tax all the way.

$52 from sams club.. free e-file fed, $20 to e-file state

the deductions program alone is well worth it most people underestimate charitable contributions by like 2000% (yes two thousand) you just check boxes for whatever you donated and numbers (3 pr mens jeans etc)they assign a real market value.....usually about $7 each, not the .50 cents people use like garage sale prices

every deduction is worth taking because any tax place usually doesn't offer since it takes more time and might only get you $200 more... they don't care... they want you in and out THATS IT

i'm on my 7th year i think of turbo tax now.

it even shows you where you might want to "fix" your inputs for possible red flags and shows an overall "audit risk"

it takes me about 2 hours to do mine (itemized ded) and 20 minutes for my sisters
