Default Ya think Milan

Should put up a payout for the No Et race? Say a grand for the fastest pass of the night. Maybe that would stir up a little more shit and more people will run out the back door.

I think that would work too, but they don't really seem to have a problem getting a lot of people there, both racers and spectators.

The biggest issues are organization I think. Raising the price for racing might actually help keep it down to the guys really racing. And where there's $$ racing, people are going to run it out the back door.

I did have an idea though, for a way to get some racing in if guys have a hard time finding races, or guys don't want to gamble a lot of money. I was thinking maybe have a very limited rule ladder, and just do it ourselves. The entire thing could just be two pieces of paper taped to the side of a trailer, one for a signup sheet and one for the ladder.

Basically just have it be $50 or $100 to get in the ladder and have the winner take all. It could be done with as little as 8 cars. The rules would have to be very simple so no tech is involved....maybe just stock suspension and small tires, no bars. That's it.

the only thing wrong with something like that is that the same guy would come in and win every time... if i had a pro mod car and knew i could turn a hundred into a thousand with one pass id go out of my way to do so... they would have to come up with regulations and i think that the no et is better without them... its a way for everyone to be able to race as long as they pay the entrance fee which should be higher to get rid of all the ricers and test and tune guys and alow for more time and passes by the guys that came to race

this is a good idea
My thinking behind it is we would get some high caliber cars to come out and race. From a fans stand point watching all of us race is a ton of fun.
Remember even the fastest guys have problems!

I can understand where you are going with this Bill, but I kinda agree with Steve. One guy could come out and take the money every time. I mean what do you guys honestly think the fastest car at the NO ET event has ran? Faster than mid-high 7s? There were some killer cars out there but I think the fastest radial cars (now) are faster than anything we've seen out there yet. Definately an interesting idea to play with though. Trace and Jason Lee got everybody going CRAZY when they would line up for sure!! It would be cool to see more cars like that out there, but I guess that's what the Friday night shit is for.

I think right now Milan needs to concentrate on weeding out the idiots. I could do without the bikes too, but that just my opinion, so if you're a bike guy don't climb up my ass!!

I like Rajs' idea of our own little ladder because if someone shows up with some crazy car out of everybodys league, we just tell them to kick rocks.

ya, i got tired of seeing the same bikes make a million passes, but the bike guys have a right to race just like us, but it seemed like they had way more passes.

it would be a good idea to raise the fee to 100 bucks, but not everybody is a high roller running $1k races. but it sure would steer a lot of people away, cause i wouldnt race if it was 100 bucks.

I agree they have the same right to race but I think they were waiving the right to wait in line like everybody else. I seen plenty of bikes blowing right past everybody to the front of the line. That's bullshit!!

ya, i remember seeing the one guy on the busa that wasnt even racing make a shitload of passes. he just took off from the line like he was leaving a stop sign.

the bikes should have to wait in the same line as the cars.

$100 is pretty steep for a lot of people. But if it will weed out the idiots, so be it.
My other theory behind the payout is the track is making a small fortune off of us. Couple hundred cars, few thousand spectators and NO PAYOUT!
Can you say CA-CHING$$$$$$!!
I like the idea of the ladder between a group.

They do have one HELL of a cash cow with this thing!! No doubt about that. The other thing I think they need to do is give priority to the money racers. Have one open lane and if two cars show up with cash in hand, they go first. Although then everybody would probably just flop some money out and lie. We did have the guy with the microphone offer to hold the money for one of Rajs races. That would keep that under control if they held the money. Only give the money to the guy with the winning timeslip or something??

Can you imagine too if they make it $100 and it doesn't weed out the idiots or give people more chances to race how bad people would be bitching then??
