Default 88 mustang gt tech question

i want to convert efi to carb on my 88 mustang gt.what is all involved and what do i need to change???someone told me i need to get a whole nother block but i dont buy that.any info would be great

All you need to do is change the intake and add the carb. There is some minor wiring involved, obviously, because you have to change to a duraspark box or other ignition. Also, you will need to either regulate the fuel pressure down, or install a lower pressure electric fuel pump. The carb will need much less fuel pressure. The throttle cable will need to be changed or modified also.

I believe you may need a different throttle cable. I know the early Mustangs (79-85) have a different cable than te efi cars.

You can run the efi ecm with the carb. Did it many times.. But the correct way is to install msd or what ever ignition you like. If you change to a lower pressure pump you need to remove the pump in the tank also.
