Your agent knows it was a season to remember for Pete Berner, even if he just missed out on his ideal finish. It was Berner’s first year with corporate backing, as Berner was pleased to welcome Summit Racing Equipment to the team. His 2010 ADRL season didn’t end with any event wins, but he nearly grabbed a World Championship, advancing to the finals of the Speedtech “Battle For The Belts” at the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VI.After defeating Bob Bertsch and Cary Goforth to reach the finals, Berner faced John Montecalvo in the finals. Both ran identical 4.071, but Montecalvo slipped past Berner thanks to a better reaction time.“I would have been even happier to have gotten the belt myself, but number two isn’t anything to be ashamed of,” Berner told your agent. “We’ll try harder next year!”Berner’s memorable season didn’t stop there. At the ADRL.us Shakedown at E-town, Berner set both ends of a national record, qualified in the No. 1 position and also won the event.“This was one of the proudest moments of my career,” Berner said. “Accomplishing all that we did in a single weekend at Englishtown was huge for our team. Summit has supported all our efforts.Berner also reflected on a busy and sometimes-difficult year in his usual positive fashion, and looked forward to what will be in store for 2011 with the ADRL and Summit Racing Equipment.“All in all we had a great year,” Berner said. “We’ve had great successes both on and off the track that we can build on for the future, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”(Photo by ADRL/Richards)http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/ADRLAgent660/~4/bv3_2Ml3OjQ
