After an earnest conversation with the always frank Rickie Smith, your agent found out that winning a World Championship in Pro Nitrous might make the racing legend walk off into the sunset - for good.“If we pull (a world title) off, it would be a tremendously good deal,” Smith told your agent. “To be honest, it might be a good way to retire on top.”Your agent was surprised to hear Smith say it, but a title win in his last race would be a pretty awesome way to go out.Smith still loves to drive, but he told your agent the grind of doing everything else has taken its toll in what has become an extremely competitive Pro Nitrous division in the ADRL.Smith surely had a successful year, finishing atop the points and winning three straight races. But it was also tough emotionally, as Smith lost his father in early August.Smith remains among the elite, but he doesn’t want that to change while he’s still driving.“I just don’t want to go to be there,” Smith said. “If I can’t go to have a chance to win, there’s no point in going. It’s pretty tough to keep up with it all to stay competitive. “I live, eat and breathe racing, but 1-2 more years will probably be all I’m going to be in the driver’s seat. I’m really close to retiring from driving.”http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/ADRLAgent660/~4/4uDT2Vqz6h0
