Saw this on another forum today. The question was, "Is it a race if you are already moving or does it only count if you start from a dig on the street?"
I've often "raced" other cars while going down Hall Rd. or Gratiot at 35 or 40mph for example....you can't always line up at a light. It's a good indication of who has more power and is good for that quick adrenaline rush.
From a dig tells you more about the entire car (power, weight, tires, suspension set up). I consider both a "race".
What about all of you??

A race is from point A) the starting line, to point B) the finish line.

I consider a it a true race when you run from a dig and both parties know its a race, otherwise its not very fair.
I hate the "Hey lets run from 40" crap, run from a dig and may the better man (or women) win.

A drag race is from a dead dig, a race from a roll gives people too many excuses.

the only time i really consider it a true race is from a dead stop when both of you know your gonna race..not just one taking off and the other trying to play catch up..

I can't really take it when people try to race from a roll. For the simple fact that not everyones gearing is the same so you can start in a very shitty gear (talking about autos here) and the other can be there best point. A dig is where its at!!

I agree a Dead Dig is the only way.
