well, my radiator kept leaking, and started to leak more and more. so today my dad and i decided to change it. luckily my boss let me use our warehouse at work as a garage. we got the ramps and put the car up. WOW was it a PITA. like royally, hoses and lots of stuff in the way, took us from about 7-11:30 to get it all done. but now its not leaking

but, my battery light comes on when i let off the gas????

Well, the thing with a Taurus is that once you fix one thing, then another goes wrong!!

ok, ive done some car work. helped my bro pull a motor and replace it with tranny and all the stuff. done other odd ends stuff too.
my dad has been workin on cars a long time, has done like 6 succesful motor swaps and other crap also. we've replaced other radiators, but this is a royal pain in the ass. like i needed to remove 30bolts, 3 electrical connections, pop out plastic christmas tree things, like seiously, soo much crap just to get the radiator out, on our 91 minivan it took like 30min for a full swap.

You have to remember it was designed by an engineer who was never gonna have to work on one. They dont care how hard it is to work on, just whether everything fits under the hood.

you'd be amazed how much effort they actually go through to make the cars relatively easy to work on..yes some things can be a major pain in the ass but trust me they could have made things a hell of a lot worse and it would have been much easier for them and probably cost less..

my grandpa was a engineer for GM for 42 years before he retired and he used to tell me how pissed he got when people would complain about how hard it was to work on the cars because the car company's were to cheap and lazy to make it easier to work on them. in certain ways its pretty amazing how relatively easy they are to work on.yeah some things are a pin but they cant make every single part easy to change and only take 10mins..thats impossible.

sorry just venting.i just hear so many people bitch and moan and blame the car company's because its hard to fix a part. yeah some things do seem kinda stupid how they did some stuff i agree but believe me there was a reason..yes sometime it is cost to them and made more sense for the company to do it a certain way. but if u wanted a car that would never break.and if it did only take take a little while to fix with minimal tools and all that crap u'd be paying 100,000+ for a car equivilent to a cavalier..

im done now :D lol

dude mario a radiator swap is soooo easy. I've done 2 in My SHO in under an hour. As for the battery light, it's time for a new battery and check the alternator as well.

i found out what the light was. one of the wires i had to move goes to the alternator and i broke a clip off of where its supposed to sit. i moved it and now the light it off. so im goin to glue it in place.

Don't glue it. Just buy a new clip. They're only like a dollar or 2. As far as your problems. All i can say is it's a taurus :P Not to mention it's a ford and when you fix one problem another one occurs. Greg, Jim, and I have experienced that on his taurus and my mustang

sometimes i want to sell it and get a primative rwd v8 carbed car, where i would have enough room to get to parts and anything that is proken can be easily fixed or swapped out.
