Ok, so this morning I get up, get ready for work, head outside and find my Focus sitting on blocks with the driver side rims and tires missing. The asswads who did the stealing also left me one lug not on both the passanger side rim and tires.
This would not have been a big deal had I put insurance on the Mustang already. But now I have no insurance on the mustang and I am missing 2 rims from my daily driver.
I am extremely pissed off at this point and would love to find out who did this.

Were they aftermarket rims? And where exactly are you located? Is this kind of theft common around your parts?
On a side note that REALLY blows. Sorry to hear this man. I would DEFINATELY want to kill someone!!

They were the stock shi**y focus rims. But I had a nice set of Toyo Proxies on them. So if you or anyone else knows of someone trying to unload a set of Focus rims with Left Side Toyo Proxies, let me know.
I live around 23 and I-94.

That sucks :(
Theres a lot of ghetto trash that lives in those apartments over by there. Maybe take a ride around and see if theres a Focus with two mismatched tires :dunno:

Jamie....that sucks big time man. I feel your pain. I have no idea what goes through peoples minds....they did it just cause they could most likely.
I wanted to call you all week but stuff keeps coming up and I keep forgetting. I'll try today to remember and call you after work (I'm home all week myself).

What a bunch of shit. What did Chesterfield PD say. Any body that live close to 94 is a target. The whole roseville/eastpointe corridor has been a cesspool of car thefts and robbery's lately because of their easy access to 94 as a get away point. Did the cops bother to take any prints off the car.

I am yet to file my police report, this is a minor crime and there is no way that they would fingerprint over something like this.

This is why people get away with this shit. The police will treat it as no big deal, wont take prints, and the little punk will get away with this kinda crap for a long time because the police will never build a file. When I was younger, we had a neighbor kid doin b&e's on houses and cars, got caught red handed 3 times, plus the times he got away, before he ever got booked on anything, and then got probation because he had no previous record. Cops never once took prints. A little Vigilanteism finally got his family to move. But someone else ended up with the problem

Speaking from a cops point of view but if we pulled a full "CSI" on every crime we wouldn't have A) enough money B) enough people. And to run good finger prints through the FBIs national computer will take days, the problem is rarely do cop get good fingerprints. It would be litery be a waste of time because the chances of finding him would be low even with a full investigation
Damn Jamie that sucks! Stealing stock Focus rims...wtf!
If we see/hear anything we'll let you know.

Jake, I can appreciate what you have to go thru on a daily basis, and dont blame the individual officers for this problem, youre stuck with what you have to work with. It just seems we dont take this type of crime seriously enough as a community, and should make sure our departments have the resources to at least come out and do a minor investigation so that crimes can be tied together.

That's been happening everywhere around here. We get calls all the time for that kind of stuff. It's bullshit but there is nothing you can really do, they hit at random.
On the other hand it does make us some money when we show up with our flatbed and 4 spare tires to put on soo we dont screw the car up anymore :bna:
Sorry to hear about that. :(

There's no way in hell your gonna catch every single criminal from every crime. If that's the case then i wouldn't see soo many ppl on the street but i wouldn't wanna see the tax bill either

I have had too much shit stolen in the past (mostly audio stuff). They did dust for fingerprints once. The officer told me he just came from a homicide and just happen to be available. Nothing ever came of it.

Best thing I can tell anyone is keep your car locked at all times install wheel lugs that require a special key and one thing my friend did with his audio equiment was that he used butter-fly head screws to put everything together, their hard to find but you can't remove them unless you have the right screw driver head

I plan to install wheel locks on my car and my wifes. I put in a police report yesterday and talked to the cop about how much of this has gone on in our city. He insisted this is the first he has heard in my area.
Lisa, I agree, its a fuggin Focus! The stocker rims suck, not to mention that mine are yellowed from lack of being kept clean.
The car is at a collision shop now so they can check it out further. It appears they were working the airbags (my airbag light is stuck on now) and they cracked the front air dam while jacking the car up.
Total time wasted of my life due to some punk stealing my stuff: 5 hours +.

Look at the Cadillac dealership in St. Clair Shores that got hit Sunday night. They stole 20 sets of rims off of CTS's. What are they gonna do with them??

thats true but if you use steel backing plates its much harder to rip out

I've heard from someone that works at the PD that it goes on A LOT in the area. I guess there's a group of punk kids stealing everything and anything...they caught a few of them but are still looking for the rest. They just always try to keep that stuff quiet.

I was at a tire/wheel shop in Madison Heights last year getting a hubcap. While I was in there a guy in a beat up old pickup pulled up with the bed full of late model oem stuff. The owner went outside and bought like 10 sets of wheels off this guy for $500.
He sure didn't look like someone who you could trust, and i'd be willing to bet that the night before 10 people ended up with their cars sitting on the rotors

If you're talking about the shop on 11 mile between John R & Dequindre, he's been arrested for stolen wheels before.

I had my radio srewed to the back of the firewall. The jackasses just cut it w/ tin snips. Took over $2500 worth of audio stuff. That's why I got out of the car audio scene.

Thats why people steal them cause asses like him buy em. I've heard of collision shops doing that. Then they charge the insurance company full price for a set of new rims and pocket the difference. Same goes w/ airbags.
