View Full Version : How's ubly
I'm taking my finally finished car to the track this weekend for test and tune, but the group I'm going with can't decide between milan and ubly, and a very, very faint chance of lapeer, but I've heard lapeer is a joke.
I don't like the ideas of the guardrail to much, but how is the rest of the track? Return road, pits, staff, etc. I don't want to rent a trailor go to milan and make 2 runs which seems to be the trend of every time I go.
Any idears?

ubly is a great track! i like it better then milan!
lapeer kinda sucks! i would not race anything faster then a 10 sec ride a lapeer! and the pits and return rd are horrible!

X2. Big tire cars work ok at lapeer. Little tires forget it. For the couple hours of racing at Lapeer, you'll spend a week cleanin' your shit up.
A guy at my work told me today ubly is the same as lapeer, is this true? I've heard lapeer is bumpy as hell and runs a few hundredth's faster, how's ubly in that aspect? It sucks lapeer is less then 1/2 the distance to ubly from me....but I've heard so many bad things about lapeer.

ubly is a million time's better than lapeer
how so? Weather is not lookin to promising tomorrow now
if you go to lapeer , go to ubly the next time you will see
Ended up going to Lapeer and well, I definatly see what you mean. Fuck lapeer that place sucks. No air, no ice, crappy everythiung and they burn the trash in the cans when they are cleaning up, that sure smells great. Gave me a hard time about my bellhousing saying I needed a blow proof, which I have, he missed it when he looked under my car while on the trailor. Then after that I got kicked out for running a mid 11 for not having a full driveshaft loop, brackets are on but the loop part I forgot about, so that is my fault. So if I take a new zr1 to the track it's going to need a loop before I run it? Everyone I know that has run faster then that at milan has never had a problem. Even one of the guys I went with who was a .100 slower then me, they never said a word. I don't know if it was because my car was trailored they were giving me a hard time or what.
Next time it's ubly or milan, never going back to la-queer.

Ubly is way better than Lapeer, but they don't have cement barriers.

But they did rebuild the metal ones by replacing all the post and raising up the now double rails.

Yeah Ubly's pretty decent. They have tech but will work with you. Nice return lane, nice pits with paved pit lanes and plenty of loud speakers.
I've race at Lapeer once and doubt I'll be back. That was early Sept last year. They gave me some guff about running quicker than 11:50 without a harness, I had a cage and a hoop. Told me to only run 1/8 mile or leave. So I ran did 1/8 mile TNT, did only 5 passes. It was only 4:30 still had alot of cars there, it was a nice 70 degree day. I went up to do another pass and they said "nope we're done for the day we're closing". You'd think they would of at least made some type of annoucement that they were shutting down for the day.
