anybody else gonna run it this year. im pretty pumped up about it. 1/8th mile stuff, small tires, not enough room for turbo cars to run around me, cant wait. this might turn into my new addiction, class racing...

I am pretty happy to see this class myself. I don't think I will be running in anything but I will be watching this to see how things go.

Hmmmm. Reeeaaaalllly??:D

It does sound like a cool class to play in. I tried to talk Raj into trying drag radial but he thinks we would look like fags getting beat down. I looked at it as 3-4 passes on a sweet track. Maybe this would be an option, it would definately give us some much needed learning with this boost controller.

hopefully, im not going to race if i think im gonna get blown out every month. if i can go some rounds i think ill have fun. depending on how much my car slows down with the weights, it looks like i should be middle of the pack and that is with the pro racers that race in the big classes. hopefully for me milans deal does not draw any of those guys.

I think if you do well, you might get addicted. I think you will do well also. Maybe the little tire will make it so the bigger motors don't have so much of an advantage over that little 363.

The records are reset each year. Overall for OSM in 8.5, Dave Rudisell has both records with a 5.727 @ 125.13 from June 2006. We made our first OSM race last week at Morocco and currently hold this years records at 5.80 @ 122.4 on a very conservative tune. I would have stepped it up but with the noise ordinace at Morocco, there just wasn't enough time between rounds . The track was hookin'. Just wish I'd had a chance to change the tune. We've been several 70's this year, with the fastest being 5.716@125.7. By the way both cars are NOS combos. Still waiting for somebody to run the first 5.60 pass on the 8.5's.

Since this post, we reset both 2007 records with a 5.77@123 at the last race in Terre Haute. There has also been two cars in the 60's at the OSCA under tighter rules. Gerald Boyd 5.64 N/A SB and Craig Watson 5.66 SB NOS.
Hope this helps you out. Come on out and join us . It's a blast on the 8.5's. What combo are you planning on running?

I was talking to Rex Jordan about this awhile ago. He used to run that bad ass green 57 chevy at Milan a few years ago.

Its only 1/8 though? It would be much more fun to attempt a full pass on those little tires.

You are going to need all your focus to keep it straight on that tiny tire.

Record: 5.36 @131.96 MPH 1/8th

Lets hope they dont make the trek out here any time soon. At least not till you guys have a chance to get the combos sorted out. Sounds like a fun class. Lets hope the guys with deep pockets dont feel like trophy hunting like they do in every other class and ruin it for the regular guys like most of you on this site.
