View Full Version : Power Dilema

Ok, for those of you that have followed my recent additions to my 01 Cobra you know that I installed a Vortech V1 S-trim blower over the winter months.

Prior to the blower I was running a Nitrous Express Wet kit jetted for 100HP. She made 400RWHP 436RWTQ very reliably. Not the fastest thing in the world but she ran good. I soon got sick of filling bottles and having to reach back and turn the thing on and off I decided to with a blower.

With the blower I was thinking of squirting the motor with a 50shot just to cool the charge down and pickup some more torque. But over the past few weeks I have gotten older or some crap, I just dont have the interest in reinstalling the nitrous system or dealing with making sure I have the fuel system

So my question to all of you: Spray with the blower or not? I rarely will use the juice on the street so that makes me want to sell the kit and be done with it.

I say no. It's a stock block. Enjoy the power for awhile. At a later date when you want more, add the juice. The one good thing about the juice over adding more boost is it will act as a coolant.

Learn from my mistakes....don't get greety from the get go and you can enjoy your new blower for awhile.

Worry about that rear end for now :naughty: Get the gears and 31 spline axles you need.

WHAT????? How would you know?? BTW, I was told 94 octane with a bottle of octane booster for the record. I started adding race gas to add safety but the damage was already done.

I don't feel like getting into that whole thing. I blame no one....shit happens when you start pushing 500+RWHP though the stock block.

Don't start with me or I will ban you from this forum for 2-weeks....TROUBLE MAKER.

My advice:

Run 13 lbs of boost.
Add a 125 shot.
Rev her up to 7,000RPM's....and let her rip.

Should make for a good show.

Im with Chuck, save the nitrous for later, get the blower fully dialed in, the if you think you need more, the squirt it. I think we all tend to get caught up in the more is better. Im already over 400hp N/A, and have my nirtrous set for 225. Glad I never ran it, it'd be a big waste of forged engine kit. I'm turning it down to 150. Long live stock blocks.

Get it dialed in as is first, then hit it with the spray. Go conservative at first with the nitrous when you do add it.

You were told racing gas. You said you didn't want so that was the next best thing for it.

No offense, but you are all fucked in the head. I was never told racing gas. There's a reason the timing was backed down to 13 degrees on the stock block. I was there, where you? I have NO IDEA how the hell anyone else "knows" what I was told since NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE WITH ME.

(rant off)

I don't feel like explaining my business to anyone esle so that's the end of this retarded fucking topic.

Right after you got the SC put on....

Me: "So Lid...what did it put down?" :D
Lidio: It put down XXXrwhp...has X much boost."
Lisa: "Nice! Does that require racing fuel now?"
Lidio: "I recommended he go with the racing fuel."

Then I also remember us all partying here and you telling everyone Lidio recommended racing fuel but you weren't for it. You said something like it makes no sence running the car on racing fuel all the time and it's too expensive so you were just going to using 94 octane and octane booster.

And Idk what your roll eyes is for. I'm not trying to get into an argument about it...I'm just pointing out what I heard and heard from you. Next time I guess I'll keep my mouth shut. :)
