14 and Hayes? I trained there for the 1st year they were open. I could not wait to leave. I outgrew that place fast. God I hate that gym and the owner Matt. My wife still trains there...when she feels like using the membership I am paying for.
I train at the Powerhouse at 16 and Gratiot. I recommend you go there when your 14 and Hayes membership expires. It's more of a cage for animals than a gym. Plus it's a HELL of a lot cheap. I pay less than half of what I paid at 14 and Hayes...but I do have a hook up at 16 and Gratiot.Even without the hook up, it's way less than the bitch gym at 14 and Hayes. No offense to you or Ryan, (orangejuiced86) of course, but that gum caters to little high school douche bags and housewives.

yea it is kinda small, i used to work out at extreme on van dyke and irving. i've trained at the 16 mile and gratiot powerhouse before, way back in 95 or 96. the only 2 reasons that i like the fraser powerhouse, i live about 1/2 mile away and most of the people who go there in the morning do cardio. also there are alot old peps there. when does ryan train?

I think Ryan is probably still training in the evening. He's another one that went through a major transformation and overhaul. I think he's probably still leaning more toward leaning out a bit more vs getting big. I could be wrong.

Ya, I still go to 14 and hayes. Im trying the lean out but these damn love handles just wont go away, lol My initial goal was 2 years to se some serious results. I have put on alittle size in the last month or 2 since I got rid of all of my cardio. I am there on monday, wed, and friday.

...The place is so close.
That's initially why I joined. Being that I am basically at 13 and Hayes and the gym was at 14 and Hayes, it was convenient.

Aaaaand that was the main reason why I left the 14 and Hayes gym. Constantly getting talked to because I was lifting too much, wasn't allowed to make any sounds with big lifts, was using the wrong equipment to do certain workouts, etc. I had to use some "leg equipment" to do shrugs, etc. I'll never forget my 1st 865lb shrug set on a "squat/lunge machine." On rep #9 the right handed lifting hook I was wearing exploded from the excessive weight and I let out quite the yell because I could not help it. The entire gym turned around and I had the biggest smile on my face because I have never lifted that much. The manager came over and aksed that I not do that anymore because I was scaring customers and he thought I would break the rack I was using.
