I have moved up in the world :D. I'm saving my nickles and dimes to by a Serdi and do this stuff for a living. I will soon have a superflow 600 bench and have found someone to run CNC programs. I actually enjoy porting cylinder heads, is that strange ?

Tomorrow I will be doing bowl work and minor portwork/polishing.

I know I need to get a life

Very cool. Have you done and before and after flow testing of the heads you have already ported?

Unfortunatly I have not on this set, I just recently got access to a bench. Most of the work I'm doing is removing cast flashing and mild bowl and chamber work. If you have ever seen a set of windsor jr.or sr. heads they have a large amount of flashing, maybe you have seen a set and know what I'm talking about. A set of modulars I did were flowed and picked up 30 cfm on both intake and exhaust with stock valves with 302 fps velocity, however I never did get swirl results. If I had access to valve cutting equipment I would buy a sf600 and do heads day and night. I have access to a CNC now and plan to have a program run, it is just getting the valvework done that will be a loss of profit.
I do not just pick up a grinder and go at it like most think, I have studied fluid and air dynamics. I hear all the horror stories about big lazy gasket matched ports that lose power on to many cars already.

Thanks Lon, he has seen some of the work I do. Again I'm not trying to advertise for work, I am just proud of what I can do with my hands and pick up a few bucks here and there. If I ever get it together and find a valve seat cutting set I have a mill I can do all the valve work in the world on, LOL. I may one day open a shop, probably a pipe dream but who knows

I know you're right about the old dart heads needing a bunch of clean up. I remember I got a set way back in the day and my cylinder head guy told me it was going to be $250 just to make them useable. He said they were good heads though and they worked great for me.

I am doing this set for a friend that runs a older bronco for wheel'in. They are just getting a dusting and cleaning as I call it LOL. He is not going to be reving to 7000 rpm ever so no point in going crazy, but I still will not let them leave half assed. $250 I guess would be a good price if you did it everyday for a living. I'm going to do a set of E7's after these just for practice, if anyone has some junk heads I may take them just to learn more on.
The reason I did well with the modulars was I had one I was able to cut the ports in half on to see what I had to work with. I am going to use a silicone based gel for molds from here on out for a 3 D veiw of the runners, it will give me a idea of what I can do to make improvements.

I have a set of e5 heads you can have if you want. I believe they are very similiar to e7's but with a larger chamber?? I dont know where I got them, they just ended up in my shed years ago.

I will take them, it may be a while before I can get them. I am going to be having my garage floor recemented and do not want to have to much extra stuff to move out. I'll shoot you a PM when I can get them...
 you know maybe I'll get them sooner, practice on those ports before doing the E7's. It would make more sense and I may make some of my material cost back selling the E7's. I have over $200 invested in carbide cutters and stones, and $100 in cartridge rolls. I'll shoot you a PM and maybe during the week I'll meet up with you or come pick them up, however.... Thanks !!!!!!!

I hae a set of BB Mopar iron heads if you want to play around with them. Also have a set of Grand Nationl heads. These are both future projects. The GN heads already have some port work done to them. The guy really hacked them up. I have another nice set that I just had Automotive Machine do a valve job on. They could use some clean up work (gasket matching) as well.

I'm all about it, PM me your number. When I get my garage floor and addition done I will let you know so I can get them. I'll take a look at the GN heads I they are hacked on to bad I won't be able to do much.
