So last night was my chest workout, right? On my 4th set (1st = 135lbs x 10 reps, 2nd = 225lbs x 10 reps, 3rd = 315lbs x 5 reps) I asked for a spot so I could do another 5+ reps of 315lbs. Well, he helped unrack, let the weight go, I started rep #1, he looked away and stepped back...
...my right shoulder made a little pop and down came the 315lbs right down on my chest. He paid no attention, and I couldn't yell with the wind knocked out of me, my lower back in agonizing pain, and 315lbs slammed to my chest.
Once he realized what was going on, he attemped to help get the weight racked back up. I went back to lifting (without a spoter!!!) about 5 minutes later when I could breathe again and when my lower back stopped spasming.

Working out can be bad for your health.

Damn!!! That's why i never ask for random spotters, and usually on do flat bench if i have someone with me. I'm sure i could roll the weight off if i ever had to, but still don't like the idea of all that weight coming down on my chest lol

Damn. Ya that would be a bummer. I always lift at home. So I never have a spotter. Kinda sucks cause you cant push yourself as much.

I can count on 2 hands the amount of times I have used a spotter in the past year of me being back in the gym...and last night is a perfect example as to why I never use one.

It's a little hard to do that when you're jgrasping to get a tiny breath of air in your lungs and you're hoping the sharp paralizing pains in your back, stop.
