I got a few good deals a few years ago but nothing in awhile. I heard different people are running it now.

Anyone else buy anything? I found a floor shift steering column for the Torino and some factory assembly manuals that I figure might be handy in figuring out how things come apart sometimes.

I found all kinds of things that i wanted...just cant scrape up the $$$ to get them..haha

I did buy a nice CSI billet aluminum mechanical fuel pump block of plate though for $10...im a big spender :lol:

Again - no 67-72 truck parts - what gives? One vendor had two tach clusters outside and another guy had a nice grille for $300 and a few other items.
All I bought were 5th Gen Camaro items, 2 1:18 cars, 2 AMT kits and 2 1:64 red Hot Wheels

Still a good show though :D

You need to jump on things like that at a swap meet for sure :D

I actually passed on the steering column and came back around and he still had it so then I got it. It isn't something I NEED per se but it would have been annoying having the auto shifter still on the column once the 6 speed is in there.

Like I said on MM. Unless you have some specific stuff you are looking for 99% of the time a swap meet is going to be a waste of time. And when you have something you are looking for, depending on what it is, some things you see stacks of everywhere you go but most things you won't find most of the time at swap meets either. In the era of the internet and e-bay going to swap meets is far more pointless than it was 10 years ago. Back then if you needed something swap meets were the only way to find it really.

I agree, now with the internet you can find almost anything you need new or used and have it shipped to your door.

I buy parts at swap meets and online. I still get the best deals at swap meets in person, I don't rely on pictures and there are no shipping charges :D

That has worked in the past for me, but saw too many people asking %10 less than what it is new.

It is nice to be able to flip it, turn it and really look at it and know what you are getting. I also checked on columns on ebay when I got home and didn't find much. The one I got is pretty nice, and already black

There is alot of that, but you make them and offer. If they don't budge, move on :D

Yep. Heard a lot of the sellers complaining about not selling anything. Maybe if they weren't so high they'd actually sell something. Most guys weren't moving on price.

that's how a lot of those swap meets are, they think they can get retail for the part and hold out on the price.
