..you cant tell anything.

Im on another board earlier, and the thread is about the 70-71 Cutlass Supreme SX's. This guy posts that he worked for Olds back in the day, and there never was a 70 SX W-32, because he never heard it mentioned, and has never seen any insider documentation. I guess the car in my garage doesnt exist. I posted that I owned one, and he agains says they're a myth, dont exist, were never built. I wonder what he's gonna say when he gets the photos of the build sheets, window sticker, and the salesmans brochure that list the option, that I just offered to email him.

the guy actually PM'd me last nite and asked me to post my info, cause he doesnt believe it. His words were "I'd like to see what you have, and I know what fake documents look like". So instead of sending it to him private, I posted it for everyone to see. Ive had this paper work from back in the 80's, when nobody was faking paper work because nobody was really interested in the cars. What a tool.

Officially schooled,
His response, "I stand corrected"

and then the cover, "maybe it was because I worked at Lansing, and they probably didnt build any there"

My reply "My car was made in Lansing"

No further response yet.

His original post:
WHOAAAAAAAAAA

What is a 70 SX W-32 ? ? ?

I never seen, heard, or sat in a meeting that ever (except in 68' about the 69' W-32 option mid year interduction) mentioned that there was such an actual option/model in 70'. The SX model was a big block in a Supreme body and thats all... Period! ! ! None of the factory info I took with me, such as the warehouse order form stays W-32, only the L series engine option code for the four Bbl. Hell the 69' W-32 even at least had the FE2 suspension as std. equip. On the 70 SX it was an option. The code W-32 was dropped when style group wanted to use a big block with a 2 Bbl. as std. equip. (sort of ala Turn-Pike Cruiser) and 4 Bbl. (ala 442) as an option in the Supreme body style in place since the W-25 (or ram air ) was not going to be used like it was in 69'. The W-32 option code was dropped after the 69' production run since so few were sold do to late interduction in the year and poor advertizing. It was engineering last gasp at keeping the 68/69 ram air system for the 70' models since is was way better than the ram air hood that style group wanted,

I even have the assembly line inspector code books and they don't even state W-32 as an option in 70' for an SX.

Its kind of like I want my car to be more vaulable than it really is sort of thing I guess. It kind of like those W-31 equipped Ralley 350 's that were never sold.

I just like the truth to be known!

His reply after I posted the paper work:

70SXW32

I stand corrected! but to some lessor degree. Thats a Fremont build sheet.

I worked at Lansing, however that should in most cases as far as coding goes, not make a difference. Most of the other plants other than Lansing did do or install items there were different in design, shape, and/or vendor used. Like some assembly plants used a different style/vendor for the Supreme grills in 71/72 as an example, than what was installed on a Lansing assembly Supreme.

Well you got me buzzing about this one! Need to adjust my meds I guess. LOL

Thanks for setting me straight and not ragging on me for it. I sometimes hold back on this site because of some who loved to jump on your bones if you are wrong. Will be checking my factory info when I visit my home in North FL where I have all my factory stuff. But you pretty much documented it!
