And while my coming home to her every night, and just being in my presence, is a gift in itself, :D  I was thinking of surprising the little lady with a gift, or dinner, or something.
Any recommendations? (please no lude comments about my wife!!!)
Thanks, DR.net. :D

i think the best thing to do is to take her out to dinner, nothin too fancy, and give her a little piece of jewelry, like a necklace or bracelet. you don't have to go all out and break the bank or anything, just somethin nice should work.
thst's just my :2cents:

Well it's a given that you have to take her out to dinner........but how about a necklace or ring with the birthstones of the three of you.?

Dinner then maybe a bed & breakfast. There's some nice ones in St. Clair and other ones on the west side of the state. I'm sure you'd be able to get a pretty good deal this time of year too.

5 years already....congrats you two!!!
As far as recommendations...I'd suggest picking 2 or more of the 4 things that you can never go wrong with on such occasions...flowers, jewelry, nice dinner, vacation/hotel. :)

Be a shooter and take her out somewhere real nice and buy her a nice piece of jewelry. She deserves it for putting up with you all these years ;)

well i just had my ten year, and i think you have kids , so unless she is a big jewelry fan (mine is not in the least) going someplace for the night w/ no kids, or the weekend is a bonus , that'll go a long ways just for a nice break
i've never been to either, but castaway bay or the other big waterpark up north might be a nice weekend out. find a decent steakhouse or seafood joint for the evening and spend the days in the never-ending river just floating around.
hopefully you can sneak some tasty beverages in there

Omg...lol!
You can get a bouquet of flowers starting at $10, and a decent dinner starting at $20 a person. Geez...you'd think I suggested a 5 star hotel and restaurant and diamonds from Tiffanys.

Get her a new bowling ball. This way, if she doesn't like, you have a new bowling ball. Hey, it works for Homer Simpson... ;)

Well here is a thought buy her a dozen roses, take one of the real roses out and put a fake one in there (now make sure it looks like the real ones dont get a funny looking one haha) and when you give the roses to her tell her you will love her to the last rose dies, since the last rose isnt real it will never die so your love is forever. Jewerly is always nice there is a a good sale going on at zales you should check it out but since she already has a nice ring from you i would get her a bracelet or a neckless they have a nice selection. Its almost Christmas anyway so you can spend the big bucks then. Now for dinner I would suggest cooking her a dinner or buying one and pretending you made it yourself (but if you do this make sure it looks like you made it - but some pots on the counter so it looks like you cooked. You can get candles and rose petals at a craft store. And instead of hard liquer that night be romantic and do wine it will set the mood better. And try to find someone to watch your little girl so you two can have the house to yourselves. Its cheaper and still romantic GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS

I haven't decided anything yet...but I will. :D A weekend away wouldn't make sense right now. No one to watch our daughter for the weekend.

Wow, thats pretty good.
However, I'd rather have my guy cook a real dinner rather than being shystee and pretending too cook one. Even if he couldn't cook (which he can) it's the effort and thought that counts. :)

I can see where that would be true.........but I'd rather have a good meal over a trip to the hospital for food poisoning any day.

Oh, food poisoning is easy to avoid, if you boil everything at max temp for 15 min before you prepare it the normal way (frying etc)
