I have some money left for mods. What are some good mods to consider? I dont want to go crazy but I want to add a little power and mean sounding exhaust.
Its a 01 Z28 and the car is all stock right now.

I dont know much about 4th gens, but I would suggest looking for a good used cat back system, maybe at MM or Z28.com. Theres always people upgrading to the new trick stuff, so you could get a good deal. Once you do the cat back, look into improving the air inlet track, maybe a cold air kit and a maf and throttle body upgrade.

Check out www.motownmuscle.com, www.camaroz28.com, or www.ls1.com. All of those sites will be a big help.

is it a Auto or 6sp? if its the 6sp your definatly going to want to get rid of the skip shift..after that just do the basic upgrades
1. get a nice catback like mike said and if u want go with a decent set of headersthey will add some good hp and a real agressive sound
2. cold air intake. farely easy to do, you can either buy a setup or do it your self following the instructions over at LS1.com in the FAQ section.
3.there's a few tricks you can do with the EGR vavle also that will allow less air restriction in the Throttle Body.
just look around at some differnt sites..there's SOOO much you can do to these motors..just takes some know how and of coarse...money. :D

A good place to start with 4th gens is an air lid and a catback. A good source for info is ls1tech http://ls1tech.com/forums/
The sponsers listed on the right side of the page will have what you are looking for. Most of the air lids will give you close to the same power increase, so look for a sale in the Group Purchase section. http://ls1tech.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=44
If you want to listen to a few different catbacks try http://www.ls1sounds.com/
They have sound bytes for most of the popular exhausts for our cars. While it doesn't take the place of hearing the exhaust in person, it is a good place to start to see what you might like.

Get it in and get it out.... Get yourself a nice catback and then a cold air kit.... then the next thing i would do is headers..... after that if its an auto, Id do a converter...those cars respond very well to bigger converters :)
