Well, my plans changed....sticking with my current power level for now.
So, I currently have 295/35/18 BFG DR's out back. Strictly for the street. I have different tires/wheels for track days.
As you know, BFG's don't last long. So, when these tires need replacing, which would you suggest? Wheel size is 18x9.5
A. Another set of 295/35/18 BFG DR's
B. A set of 305/35/18 Nitto DR
C. Other brand or size?

I'd do the 305-35-18 Nitto DR's.

Price difference is:
BFG $234 each
Nitto $277 each
Nitto lasts about 3x longer though.

Reason the Nitto's last longer is that they are a harder compound( dont stick as well), so if traction is a concern, I'd stick with the BFG's

Pfft, that's retail. Who the hell pays retail? When you need tires call me and I will send you to my guy at Discount Tire who's a Senior Manager...or another one of my guys who is a Manager at Belle Tire. Nitto's tend to have a bit more mark up in them, so, you might even pay LESS for the Nittos than you would thre BFG's. I'm in the same place as you right now, I want and need wider tires out back and I want DR's. I think that with a 10.5" wide wheel I can only go as big as 305 on my car. I have no fuckin idea why I thought 285-35-18 would be good enough or why I felt I need an all around tire for that car...I DON'T EVEN DRIVE IT IN THE DAMN RAIN!!!!!!!!!!

Ive got 2 1/2 sets of rims/tires for my LX. Slicks and Front runners, a matched set of BFG's on Budniks for touring/trips, and a set of BFG DR's on matching Budniks for local cruising. I watch the different boards for people selling their DR's, the last 2 sets I bought(gotta have a backup) I paid $225 and $200 for brand new pairs. I'll probably get another set if I come accross that kind of price, might as well, I know I'll eventually use them.

Al, you can get me a hook-up come spring too right?..lol
I need to get some new drag radials also...
Only BFG's for me. 275/40/17 I tried nitto's at the track and hated them, of course I'm sure for the street either would probably be fine... and as we all know the Nittos do last longer..

Get a dedicated set or track tires allready
But, Nittos hand down..
They are a true dual compound, when cool they are hard and hold up on the street. At the track air them down and heat them up good and let them rip.
Lota guys can get the same performance form the nittos as there previous BFGs, it just took some knowledge.
Mickthompsons drag radial kills both of them btw

I got 15k out of my Nittos and they are still pretty sticky, just not as sticky as BFG's. You can always get them to come down on price. Thats the beauty of 2 tire places cliaming they will beat any price. Make them bid for your business. :)
I gotta get new 315 Nittos this spring, the original set lasted 2 seasons and lots of drag events and road course events.

Damn Chuck, you change your mind faster than a whore changes panties on a Saturday night. I'd stay with the BFG'S.
