We went to Sears to buy a new stove last week.
After we pick out the one we wanted, the salesman gave us our price.
Then he says,"you better buy it today because the price of steel is going up so this stove will be $100 more next week".
I looked at him and said,"how stupid do you think I am?"
So we walked out.
We went back today, got a different salesman, and bought the stove for even lower than what he quoted us.
On our way out we saw him trying to make a sale on a dishwasher.
I butted in their conversation and said,"He better not be telling you a bullshit story of the price of steel". They ended up walking away.

Sorry for the rant, that dude made me pissed.

Typical problem with commisioned sales, turns people into liars.

When I ran the used car reconditioning at one of the dealers I worked for, one of the sales men was always telling people that the car they were looking at had a new motor put in it. I finally got fed up, and walked in his office during a sale, and told the customer the car did not have a new motor. I showed the customer the reconditoning file, they bought the car anyway, and the salesman looked like an ass. Thats the last time I ever heard him us that line.

Basically, no matter how nice/good a person is, if they work under a commision/quota job, they are gonna make up a line of BS so they can make money. Sure is funny how successful Saturn is with their set pricing/no haggle arrangement.

When I go back to pick it up this week, I think I might complain to the manager.
No telling how many suckers he got to fall for that.

Im looking for a Z28 now right and Friday I went to the dealership. They had a few Z28s and I told him thats what I was looking for. Then he tells me the price of gas is going to skyrocket and I should get a v6 and no one would know its a v6.

That's like the time I went to Russ Milne (sp?) when I was looking for a Cobra a few years back. I told him I wanted a Cobra...not a GT, not a V6.

Him: "Oh but we can sell you a V6. I'll throw in some Cobra badges and no one will know the difference."

Me: :nono: "Are you going to throw in the engine, interior, hood, bumpers, exhaust, etc..etc...etc...too? I'll take the solid axle because thats better for drag racing anyways, but everything else from the Cobra has to be included." :D

Him: :ugh:
