View Full Version : Ubly track day?
It seems like there's a lot of people interested in a track day at Ubly. Figure mid to end of July would be perfect so everyone should have their cars ready by then. It would be nice to get some of the other local people involved from other sites too.
Any suggestions on a day, ideas, etc?

Saturday in July, cause the track is usually quiet. Plenty of room for us and the ability to run as much as you want. We made 24 passes one year on a Sat T&T at Ubly.

July? Why not like May? If peoples car's aren't ready they can plan on July then...
July just seems so far away.
Oh we are going to have more that one track event. May's good too.
I'm just thinking that this one (probably July?) we could get everyone involved (people from other sites, clubs, etc..), set up some good grudge races, make some new friends, etc.
What do you guys/gals think? :gears:

Why? It's been 3+ years since I've been to a track and the few times I went were never during the summer...plus I almost never wear shorts.

Ok, well I just looked at 1000 other schedules (we have quite a few members who do FFW, NMRA, etc....) Well, Saturday July 16th seems to be the perfect day....nothing is going on anywhere else that I know of. I just contacted Ubly to secure this date for us. Once I hear back from them I'll post an official thread on it.
Sound good? :bna:

Thats an improvement, it used to be that a convert required a bar or cage at 13.99, just like the requirement for hardtops used to be 11.99 and now its 11.49.. Look at it this way, a 13.49 is gonna net you a 100mph trap speed, would you want to end up on your softtop at 100mph.

I agree a soft top car needs a cage, but a hard top car, unless i'm misinterpreting the rule, it has to have a "roll bar" if it goes 13.49 or faster.
There are just too many people out there that have stock musclecars that'll go that fast and they don't want a "roll bar". So in other words it means if you don't put a roll bar in your car you can't run it at the track pretty much. So then where are people supposed to "legally" have some fun with their cars? That rule  just doesn't make a lot of sense to me...

Youre reading it wrong, 11.49 or quicker for hardtop, any convert 13.49-11.49 must have bar or cage. Both major sanctioning bodys now have the same hardtop and softtop rule. Again, a convert needs a rollbar if it is quicker than 13.50, and a hardtop needs one if it is quicker than 11.50

Maybe with another 150 hp to the wheels :(
Ubly usually isn't that strict. Their big thing is no shorts if your racing. Unless all that changed? :dunno:
Ubly tech: "ya'll forgot ya'll doors....thats ok, just bring dem' damn things next time!" :D
