Just got a 88 Mustang GT.. Did an oil change and now smoke comes out of the exhaust. what would cause this? I put 10W30 in her didn't do it before oil change??? Help:confused:

you sure it's the exhaust? is it coming out the tail pipes or from under the hood?...you could have spilled some oil on the manifolds and exhaust piping and i could be burning it off...what color is the smoke?

Coming out from the tail pipe and it a blue white color..

your buring oil....did you over fill the engine?

A common problem with the 5.0's that have some miles on them is the PCV valve is overlooked because its hard to get to. I'm almost willing to bet that its stuck shut and causing blow-by.

Yep and don't forget to check that screen thing that is where the pcv valve sits into. I'd chuck it as far from the car as you can. It ususally plugs up and causes the valve covers to leak. If you want to replace it you have to get it at a dealership.

Thanks for the help.. i'll take a look at at today, when i did the oil change i don't think i over filled it. I'll let your guys know....

Look like every thing ok, i think i just over filled it just a little, or because it was cold that day...
