TB spacers

So the subject of throttle body spacer on the 05 has been discussed to death on some mustang boards, some say it's no more than a turbonator scam while others say it's a huge improvement, but I still haven't seen any definitive numbers that shows if it actually does anything or not...

What do you all think? Does it make sense that you'll gain 1 rwhp / 10+ rwtq from nothing more than an extra 1" between the throttle body and manifold? People also say they get 1-2 mpg increase... but people say alot of stuff on the net that has nothing to do with reality... :lol:

i dont see how a throttle body spacer will do anything on a maf car..all your doing is increasing the intake. The fuel doesnt come in until the bottom intake anyways so it doesnt do anything for atomazation of the fuel as far as i know. if it does help please explain why because as far as i can see it doesnt seem like it would make any difference at all..

On a carburated car it allows more time for the fuel to atomize for a better burn of the fuel so a spacer is generally a good thing..

If they work so good then Ford would have put one on there from the factory.

On the 05 you may see a mileage increase but won't really feel a difference in power. A spacer will increace plenum volume which can increase power, however the design of the 05 intake will not benifit from this as would the 2 valve motor. The modular 2 valve have been known to make gains as much as 25 bhp with a plenum spacer and throttle body spacer.
