ok, on monday i managed to get the rear u-joint replaced on my caddy to get the thing even more ready to sell, but i still have a driveshaft issue. mine is a 2 peice design that goes into the X-frame. there is a good 2foot section where it is fully enclosed. and in there the is something that holds the 2 together and not flopping around.. i dont know if something is missing or what, but the thing wont spin correctly. will this get stretched out and fix itself when the rear end is put off the jackstands? or what? im at a standstill.

also. sometimes when i put it in park it kicks itself into gear and the shaft wants to spin so i have to shut off the motor real quick. is there any sorth of neutral safety switch or gear thingy i can make so it doesnt pop out? its a colum shifter and doesnt have the pull back and down design, all u do is pull it down.

i hopefully have a guy lookin at it today to buy. if it doesnt sell im goin to start it every week this winter so i dont have to mess with it to get it runnin, and maybe ill fix the brake setup and get it driveable.

you should spend the time and make it drivable, even if it takes a little money because you will definatly get more out of the car because of it. As far as the other issues i really dont know what to tell you with out actually seeing the car. On the 2 part drive shafts they go through a bushing/bearing that keeps the drive shafts at the proper angle. Can you take any pictures? that would probably help out when trying to answer your questions.

thats the whole problem with it. i cant get in there. its an Xframe car. fully boxed in the center with the driveshaft running through it.
