Just looking for some opinions... was thinking of painting the part of the trunk lid that is between the tail lights black. Is this a stupid idea or do you think it might look good?

Pic deleted, it did look kinda weird!

Stupid idea. If it's red, leave it red...or paint the whole car black. Then you're talking. :D Is your spoiler black? If so, have it painted to match the car.

Hmm, I did save my original red spoiler.. I thought it got a bit too red with nothing back there except the gt emblem and license plate not red.. but there is something to be said for clean looks too.. :)

Btw, that pic does not show just what a great job they did at Al's friend's business (Grip Tuning) on the tint job.. I don't think the average person (such as myself) could tell that it's not stock glass tint.. Highly recommended!

Well, I don't really care for the spoiler at all, kinda wish I had ordered it with the delete option, but I didn't even think of it at the time... :(

So, what's a good place to take it to get the holes from the spoiler plugged and painted good enough that you can't tell it was done? :D

Stopped by a Ford dealer today to ask them what it'd cost to swap my lid... $710...

  :dead:

Since plan B involved duct tape, I'm just gonna leave it alone... :)

Start posting up on some Mustang boards and see if anyone else with a Red 2005 wants to swap deck lids.

You could call some junkyard that have late models and see if they have a decklid.

I know this thread is way old, but are you still interested in filling the holes on your deck lid?

I'm in the process of doing mine and if you still want yours done I can help. Might not be able to get to yoursd for a while, but this could also be a winter project if you'd like.

Knowing Ford, they probabally cost the same with and without spoilers.

I did the same thing as you did painting the spoiler black lab, but it just didn't look right. I was going for the "MACH1" look, but without the engine, wheels, and seats, it wasn't cutting it.

Yeah.. I still kinda like the black spoiler, but no spoiler would be better...

Or... I could just give up on having no spoiler and go the other way.. wonder if a cobra R spoiler will fit. :D

Please don't...The only car that spoiler belongs on is the 2000 R :nutkick:

How about just leaving the wing on your car and covering the whole car in stickers......
