If its a race motor, Livernois, if its a good street/strip type motor, cant go wrong with Automotive Machine, they know their stuff.

Livernois

I wasn't very happy w/ them when they originally put together my car years ago.

Impasato Racing did all the machining for my motor, He's in Clinton Twp. Very happy with the quality of the work, but dont expect it to be cheap

Vince knows his shit, and is very particular when it comes to machining and assembly. When he was off 15 mile, the shop next door had a fire that let smoke and soot into his shop. He had 10 motors ready to ship, and wouldnt ship a single one until he tore them down, cleaned and then re assembled them. They were covered with plastic, but he wouldnt take a chance.

Thanks for the reply's. I talked with both Automotive Machine & Impastato both appear to be very knowledgeable. Vince said up front that he is a one man operation & would take it on as a winter project but I should not expect completion til next spring. I appreciate his honesty, not that I'm in a hurry but (6) months for an engine build seems a little long to me. He must be very busy. It looks like Automotive Machine for now.

Yes, Vince is always very busy, just a testament to the quality of his work. He was/is a successful SuperStock Racer, with a few "Wallys"(NHRA National event Trophys) in his display case, including one from the US Nationals.
