Steeda Clutch Cable

What are your guy's opinions on the steeda clutch cable kit? I'm thinking about going with that for dennis "stangracer" car. It's like 100 bucks over at stangnet :confused:

I went with the UPR clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster.
I've heard many stories about aftermarket cables snapping.

BTW, UPR and Steedas clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster is basically the same.

Soo basically i need to get a firewall adjuster with it also?

The firewall adjuster allows you to slightly change the point where the clutch grabs (related to the clutch peddle position). The stock one is plastic/rubber and is non adjustable.

The UPR or Steeda clutch quadrant is a vast improvement. The stock one is plastic with little teeth on it. The manual tells you after xxx amount of miles to pull up on the peddle and it will self adjust itself. What you are actually doing is repositioning where the cable is on the quadrant since it has skipped across some of those teeth over time. I think this was my problem at the track. Dumping the clutch at 6,000 RPM's on ET Streets and the quadrant teeth couldn't hold onto the cable (something like that). The new quadrant is made of aluminum and has one setting. Much stronger piece.

The OEM cable from everything I've heard and read are STRONG. But like I said, I've heard multiple stories of aftermarket cables fraying or snapping.

So yes, I'd recommend the firewall adjuster AND clutch quadrant.
