Mike, go to Murrays and buy the Mother's Powerball and PowerMetal (red bottle, should be right next to the Powerballs on the shelves) and hit those Budnicks with it. You will be able to get all 4 of those wheels knocked out in less than 30 minutes vs an hour+ for each wheel. WELL worth the money for people with polished aluminum wheels.

You'll really like the results and the time those two will save you. If you have an extra $17.00 buy the Mother's Clay Bar kit (comes with clay bar, car bar lubricant, and wax) and spend a little time on the body of the car too...if your back can handle it.

Seriously? If you are indeed serious...

Expect to spend at least 1 hour clay barring a car. Ideally you want to clay bar no more than a 12" square of body at a time. Spray lubricant, and swipe the clar bar back and forth (NOT CIRCULAR MOTIONS) and keep pulling and the clay apart and "mixing" the clay. you will see the shit that the clay bar picks up off of finish actually in the clay. Keepiong messing with the clay so that you're almost always "claying" with a clean clay surface. Once that 12" square feels smooth with the clay bar, wipe that area dry and really well and move to the next square.

After you clay bar a car you really should add at LEAST 1 coat of good wax. I usually do 3 coats of good wax, then a polish, after I clay bar my cars...but I have a sickness that can't be stopped.

From start to finish, clay bar to complete 1 coat HAND wax job, you're probably looking at least 3 hours. I ALWAYS spend more time then that, but you might be able to do one coat in that time. I always wax buy hand. I am not a big fan of orbital buffers (I have one and have used it twice in 4 years) and I don't own a high speed buffer. Noobs beware of high speed buffers, you can burn through paint pretty easily with a high speed buffer...if you don't know what you're doing.

Murray's has it for somewhere between $16.99 and $19.99. I forget. I have a LOT of car care supplies in my garage and more see to constantly keep managing to appear. I often find myself at the register of these places with a counter full of car stuff...yet I have no idea how I even got to the store. :D

Actually, Bubba and Jim did a great job cleaning and waxing the car, hasnt looked that good in years. And they ended up having to use Mother's and hand polish the rims, the Powerball just wouldnt clean them. Theyre shinin like crazy now.

it could be ALOT better but for sittin for 3 years and a quick wash/wax it doesnt look to bad at all.. ;) but Al will probably freak out and have a heart attack when he looks at it..

Let's see, over the past couple days I have pulled my wheels off and cleaned, polished, and waxed the outside lip and spokes and cleaned the inside lips, cleaned most of the undercarriage, the exhaust pipes from the axle back have been polished, ArmorAll'ed the gas tank cover, detailed the engine compartment and added some shiney dressing to that, detailed the interior, cleaned the leather, moisturized the leather, added 3 coats of wax, vacummed the interior...twice, also vacummed the trunk, shined all of the glass, inside and out, and I am sure I'm forgot to mention a thing or two. I wish I had the money to get my from fascia and hood stripped and reprayed right now. :( The chips suck!!!

The wheels had 3 years of shit on them and the PB just wasn't abrasive enough...good ole Mothers paste and a rag the old school way worked good for now ;)

What the fuck? How and why did the Powerball not work?

The Powerball Polish wasnt course enough, it was just gummin up the rim, wouldnt cut thru. The regular mothers polish is more of a rubbing compound. Im sure the ball would work now to maintain them, but just wasnt stiff enough to clean them up.
