Do you need to go 8.0 or 8.50? There's a big difference in power at that level. I went in that range with a mild 347 and a GT-4788 turbo @ 3200#.

??? i guess not but thats my goal i know if i go 8.50 or slower i car legally run with just a 12pt cage vs. 25.2 i think and i know the other safty stuff isnt a strict either so it might be cheaper and easier to obtain??? i should also say that i already have a 92 351w out of a f250 so that y i want to it since i already have it would you build the car first like chassis and suspension or the engine and build the car around that ?

Even 8.50's aren't a joke, you will need both the power and the chassis to run that number. If you're going to use a stock windsor block, I wouldn't try to go faster than mid 8s, even that is pushing it on a production block.
If you picked up a gt4788 and built a forged 357 with the stock block and a set of out of the box Victor Jr or TFS heads, you could run that number.

Turbonetics has some good stuff too, but they are normally kinda of expensive because they have ball bearings, which aren't necessary at all for what you're doing. I think the gt47-88 is a great unit for what you want because it will run quicker than 8.50 and won't need a lot of motor to do it. It also spools really fast.
